The Year of the Tiger

Yesterday we went on an outing up to Chinatown in LA to see the Golden Dragon Parade. It was a ton of fun! We weren't exactly sure what to expect, but we ended up being really impressed. There were streamers of confetti floating in the air, ethnic music and food, and of course... DRAGONS! We decided to buy Ava a little dress so she would fit in:

but I still think she stuck out in the crowd. We had to keep her pants on underneath the dress because it was still a little cool outside. Here are a few pictures of the parade:

We also saw some "Mascots" running around the festival, so obviously we had to get some pictures with them. I think Ava is wondering why they have such big heads:

In other news, Ava is really close to crawling.  We also have been having a lot of fun going to the beach, the pool, and Disneyland. Even though it's February, we've had quite a few days that the weather has been sunny and in the mid 70s. I love California! Here, Ava and her friend Eden are playing dress up as a princess and a pirate at Disney. Aaarrrgghhh...

Ava and Daddy got some cuddle time in at the beach last Saturday.

Ava is getting better; she's been pretty sick this winter. She seems to get one cold after another. She still has a nasty cough, but other than that seems to be her old self. We are so happy to have her in our little family!
