Well, friends, I guess it's about time I post something new here. I'm currently 16 weeks prego, and still sick! Can you believe it? I can't. But this post is about something else. Lately, reading scriptures on my own has been difficult, because it makes me feel more sick, so I've been listening to conference talks from last October. Last night I listened to a few that inspired me somewhat. I realized that I've been feeling pretty sorry for myself, wondering why I have to be one of those really sick pregnant people, when in fact I should let things "come what may, and love it." So I titled this posting "Finding Joy in the Journey." I can't just keep waiting to feel better. I'm already so excited about this baby, that I want to remember that part about pregnancy. Here are some things I want to share with you that I've experienced during this pregnancy that I would never have been able to experience otherwise. Hopefully you can share in my joy, if not my laughter, at some of these crazy things I never want to forget:
1. Fruit Loops: I may never eat this cereal again, and I'm sure my blood sugar is well above normal limits, but since I started getting sick, it's been my saving grace. Mmmm... fruit loops.
2. Milk: to go with Fruit loops, but even more than that, all my medications seem to work much better with a glass of milk. I go through so much I should probably buy some kind of stock in walmart milk.
3. Zip Lock bags(the gallon storage containers): no one but sick pregnant people could ever be grateful for these bags in quite the same way. 'Nuff said.
4. Rubber bands and long shirts: the staple of every newly pregnant woman's wardrobe. Do they even make cute, long jeans in maternity???
5. Pillows, pillows, and more pillows: some behind me, some in front, and one for the head. Poor Ben! Good thing we have a king bed.
6. Salsa, and other cravings: Sometimes they're worth the heartburn.
7. Toilet seat lids: This is probably the funniest one of all. I actually broke the hinge to the lid from being sick so much! Time to invest in a better made seat. Seriously- never thought I would have to say that.
8. Shower gel and toothpaste: I love that there are so many brands and scents/flavors of each of those out there. Once I got past the worst of the morning sickness I actually had to change brands because the smell of those made me gag. Good thing I'm not hooked on Colgate.
Those are just a few of the funny and crazy things that I've come to have a greater respect for since I've been pregnant. Maybe it sparked a few memories for you. If so, I'd love to hear about them.

It's good that you're writing things down, I wish I would have with both of my pregnancies. I was never sick enough to throw up, so I can't relate to you there. But yes, smells can get you easily.
Have you been maternity shopping yet?? You can get some cute stuff from Old Navy Online, so check there! I might have a shirt or two that would fit you, I'll have to go through my stuff.
I would love to get together again, so when you're having a good day give me a call :)
Love ya!
Cereal was also one of my favorites during pregnancy. It was one of the few things that didn't sound gross! I hope you get feeling better soon!
I loved reading that! I'm sorry you're feeling so sick :( I'm glad that you're finding joy in your bundle of joy.
So do you know what you are having yet??? I am so excited, can't wait to hear. We are counting down a little more than 2 months left. Yippy!
Good luck on the clothes. I like being super prego in the summer so that I can wear skirts. Winter belly is the worst for pants. They make designer-tall pants for pregnant, but I was never up to spending $100+ on pants that I only wear for 4 months. Gap's tall pants are the best that I have found.
Hope you feel better.
Congrats on the pregnancy!
