We had a great combined priesthood/relief society lesson on debt and the economy a few weeks ago and it's stayed with me. The guy giving the lesson is a real estate lawyer, so the brunt of the lecture involved learning about short sales, foreclosures, etc, but he also touched on making your own business. He spoke about finding something you can do and doing it- there was also going to be a fireside on how to get started. It really got me thinking, "What can I do?" As a nurse I can't really work from home, but with Ava I usually have some time to kill throughout the day.
As I've pondered that question, I've stumbled upon a few things. First, Utah has a few things by way of "crafting" that California doesn't offer. Second, I keep getting compliments from people on those same things. SOOOO.... I think I've finally narrowed down what I'd like to do. If it doesn't work out I'll still be able to use my product, and I will be able to refine a talent in the process. If it does work out, I'll be posting more about it within the next few weeks.
I also have an interview with a family in the stake who has a 4 year old daughter in need of some nursing care. She is a PICU candidate, so I would feel right at home. I'm not sure how it will go, but the family seems nice, and if it doesn't take time away from Ava then it might be good. It would also give me a chance to keep my nursing license current.
Stay tuned!

I hope it all works out for you. At least you're willing to give it a try :)
Good for you girl! Let me know if I can be of any assistance! Even though I'm all the way in Utah!:)
