How Time Flies

It's been a while since my last post, and much has happened in that time. First, Ava and I came out to California to be with Ben, and we all stayed in a hotel for about 9 days until we could get into our house. We decided to rent a home until we know if we like California and where the best places to live are. It's a really nice home, and our landlords seem good. As we unpacked I got out all my fall and Halloween decor, so I feel pretty "at home" now. I will have to get and post some pictures.

The rest of the time has been utilized by unpacking and getting settled. I took Ava in for her 6 week appointment (even though she's 7 weeks this week) and she was in the 90-95 percentile for both length and weight. She's a big girl! I told the doctor I must make cream, since she keeps growing so fast. Speaking of the pediatrician, I absolutely LOVE her! She gave me samples of everything, was very thorough, and even gave me referral cards for her OB and dentist! Now that's covering all the bases!

The area here is really great. We found out that we have 2 next door neighbors that are LDS, and the community itself has quite a few. I also found out that an old friend from Colorado lives in our stake with her family! What a small world it is in the church!! We've already been to the beach, just to dip our feet in the water. Ava was a trooper but a bit scared.

Ava has been really good about self-soothing, but it makes it a little hard when she wants to be swaddled and left alone and we're not home. She isn't too thrilled with me when that happens. Other than that she is a really good girl. She smiles all the time and has even started to "talk" to me a little bit. She will copy the tone of my voice and coo. It's amazing how much she has done in 2 months!
