I Wish We All Could Be California Girls...

I'm so relieved! I know we are not completely through all the stressful things regarding the move, but I feel like a lot of them are over. This morning was our official move to California. We met up with the owner of Ben's company and flew out to meet Ben. It was a little scary, because Ava's never flown and I wasn't sure how she would handle it, but she was a champ! I fed her a bottle during takeoff, and then she fell asleep until we landed. The owner actually complimented her on how good she was. If nothing else, at least she made a good impression on him!

After we landed, we had to wait for about a half hour for Ben to arrive and pick us up. He had driven our other car and was coming from Las Vegas this morning. Once he picked us up we waited until about 2 to get a hotel room and then all of us had a nap. I think Ava was beat by this time- I changed her into her pjs and swaddled her, and she fell right asleep for a few hours. In fact, she still has her eyes closed.

I miss our family back home in Utah, but I think this will be a good and fun adventure for our little family. Thanks to my friend, Bonnie, I have some good ideas of things to do while we're here. We also supposedly live in a great ward, so once we get settled into the house (around September 10) we'll be able to have lots of good LDS families around us.
This is Ava smiling at me while we waited for Ben to come get us from the California airport.

We didn't have the bassinet last night because Ben was driving down with it, so I had to improvise and put Ava in a dresser drawer. At least she slept well!

You put our daughter in a DRAWER!?
I thought this only happened in trailer parks and on The Simpsons.
